During a speech at the World Economic Forum in January 2020, President Donald Trump announced plans for the United States to take part in global efforts to plant one trillion trees. Besides helping with reforestation, the program is designed to improve biodiversity, habitat and increase the amount of tree coverage, which can help remove carbon dioxide from the air.
