The Mellott Mfg. mat drilling machine is an efficient way to drill holes in timbers for the
production of crane mats.
It features a PLC control system with programming and touch screen interface and
sensors. The operator can select timber length and the configuration of the holes, such as
counterbore, no counterbore, offset, and so on.
A heavy-duty rollcase automatically advances the timber through the drilling station.
Drill height is mechanically set from 3-6 inches above the rolls. Two drill units with bits and
counterbores are powered by 7.5 hp TEFC motors. A 15 hp hydraulic power source cycles the timber clamps and drills.
The Mellott mat drilling machine can handle timbers from 6×6 to 12×20.
Mellott Manufacturing also offers custom engineering fabrication services for the
sawmill, pallet, and wood products industries.
