Brunner Hildebrand has been selected by Berneck, one of the largest producers of lumber products in South America, to supply lumber drying kilns at their projected third sawmill to be located in Lages, Brazil.
Berneck has chosen Brunner Hildebrand after careful selection, technical studies and trials in existing kilns with Brunner Hildebrand drying schedules in order to avoid drying defects.
The company ordered 32 Brunner Hildebrand dry kilns with a capacity of 85,000 board feet each for drying Pinus elliottii (slash pine), Pinus taeda (loblolly or Southern Yellow Pine) and teak, a tropical hardwood.
The kilns will feature the most advanced control systems, including the new Hildebrand Weight Precision Technology (HWPT). This game-changing measurement system provides precision that was previously unknown by combining the weighing of entire lumber stacks with conventional lumber moisture measuring methods. In addition to achieving a high level of accuracy in determining moisture content, the measuring is carried out by so-called ‘electronic bolsters,’ so it is completely wireless.
Berneck is a Brazilian company with more 65 years of history. It specializes in the manufacture of medium-density particleboard, medium-density fiberboard, and high-density fiberboard panels as well as sawn pine and teak. Berneck operates a number of industrial plants with very high production capacity and cutting edge technology.
All Berneck wood products are sourced from wood planted forests and are manufactured for the furniture, civil construction, automobile, electronics and packaging industries, among others, in Brazil and abroad.
