Ligna Machinery Offers Laserex Laser Diodes
Ligna Machinery is the exclusive U.S. distributor of Laserex Technologies lasers.
The Laserex LDM-4 is a compact, rugged, reliable laser diode module that can function in temperatures ranging from 50 degrees below zero to 120 degrees and is only 1-1/4 inch long and ½-inch in diameter. Applications include harsh industrial conditions, such as sawmills.
Two versions are available with powers of 10mW and 30mW. The Laserex LDM-4 laser module comes with a 635nm ultra bright diode that operates off 3-6V dc.
The company offers different line generators to produce a bright, crisp, highly visible laser line. An optional uniform intensity line generator produces a laser line of equal brightness along the entire line.
The laser diodes have an average life of 10,000 hours and are available with a number of mounting options.

ReTech RG52 ‘Stretch’ Grinder for High Volume
The ReTech RG52 ‘Stretch’ rotary wood grinder from Vecoplan is designed to process high volumes of all types of natural and engineered wood scraps.
The ReTech RG52 features a 52-inch by 68-inch hopper opening, a 3-5 cubic yard hopper volume, a 15-inch high output torsion point cutting rotor, and 30-37 four-way, indexable cutting inserts. Other features include a 40-75 hp drive motor and a 3-5 hp, two-speed hydraulic feed ram.
The ReTech RG52 can achieve throughputs of 500-15,000 pounds per hour. A lifetime warranty on the cutting rotor and an equity ‘buy-back’ guarantee are standard.

DuraTech Introduces 3 New Wood Grinders
DuraTech Industries recently introduced three new industrial wood grinders. The new models were introduced at the Waste Expo trade show in Las Vegas.
The DuraTech model 6000 horizontal grinder is the newest in the company’s line of industrial grinders. It is powered by a Cat 630 hp engine that meets all Tier III emissions standards. The model 6000 machine features a HPTO wet clutch to transfer power to the 12,000-pound hammermill, which is fed by a self-governing apron and feed roller. This high capacity grinder has a 60-inch feed opening and a 315 cubic foot hopper to handle the largest stumps and trees.
The DuraTech model 3010 track tub grinder is designed for applications that require moving the grinder over rough terrain, such as land-clearing operations. It features 25 inches of under frame clearance and a 20-inch by 15-foot track system. It is powered by a Cat diesel engine that can be operated by remote control. The model 3010 track tub grinder features a computer-operated HPTO wet clutch, Cat tracks, tub direction and stacking conveyor.
The DuraTech Model 3010 industrial tub grinder with grapple loader features a series 7000 loader with continuous rotating grapple. It is powered by a Cat 525 hp Tier II diesel engine coupled with a HPTO fluid clutch to the heavy duty hammermill. It also features a self-cleaning radiator screen and radial stacking conveyor.

Bandit 1890 Chipper Now More Compact
The Bandit Industries model 1890 hand-fed Intimidator chipper now is more compact and lighter, which makes it easier to maneuver, especially in tight areas.
The high capacity drum style Bandit 1890 chipper is 15 feet, 3 inches long – nearly 2 feet shorter. The new compact frame is shorter and is positioned under the infeed hopper for more support; tanks are set on the frame instead of the fender.
The Bandit 1890 chipper has a 20-inch by 18-inch infeed opening. It features Bandit’s proven feed system, which enables the Intimidator to process limbs and eliminating the need for trimming.
The Bandit model 1890 Intimidator is fast, easy to operate and feed, and provides dependable service with minimal maintenance. The standard model is available with a variety of engine options up to 130 hp; the heavy-duty version features power options to 200 hp. Morbark Introduces New Compact 2600 Wood Hog
Morbark has introduced the new model 2600 wood hog, which is more compact and affordable
yet features rugged, durable construction and performance.
In designing the new Morbark model 2600 wood hog, engineers filled an important niche in price and application. The machine is compact for easy transport and set-up but heavy enough for wood waste recycling.
The new Morbark model 2600 wood hog is best suited for applications of grinding green waste and light demolition debris. With production rates up to 14 tons per hour, depending on material, it is designed for tree service businesses and small local governments that want to expand into the grinding market.
The Morbark model 2600 wood hog, with engine options up to 260 hp, weighs 24,200 pounds and is 7 feet, 11 inches wide; it easily complies with regulations for weight and width. The machine’s height is 11 feet, 6 inches, and length is 34 feet. A combination fifth wheel-pintle hitch towing arrangement is standard.

Wood-Mizer to Unveil New Mill at SAWLEX
Wood-Mizer Products will introduce a new portable sawmill at the Sawmill, Woodlot & Logging Expo (SAWLEX) June 3-4 in Youngstown, Oh.
The company, a leading manufacturer of portable band sawmills, is withholding details of the new machine until the event. The new model will be backed by the same strong service, quality and safety features shared by other Wood-Mizer mills, company officials said.
The new mill and other Wood-Mizer portable sawmills will be demonstrated at the Expo. The company also will participate in the ‘Great Portable Sawmill Shoot-Out’ event with three of its most popular mills. The ‘shoot-out’ is a competition between manufacturers of portable samills that measures production, yield and other factors.

USNR Increases Sales Presence in Southeast
USNR, one of the largest manufacturers of machinery and control systems for the wood processing industry, has appointed Scott Howard to account executive, serving the Southeastern U.S.
He will be based out of USNR’s manufacturing plant in Hot Springs, Ark. and will represent the full line of USNR machinery products. Scott joins USNR’s capital equipment sales team, which also includes Toby Slagle, Steve Dalby, Jeff Falk, Mark Partyka and John Reed.
Scott has extensive experience in the forest products industry and previously was a sales representative for Hi-Tech Comact. Educated at the University of West Alabama, he was introduced to the forest products industry in his family’s small sawmill. He also worked at a chip mill, where he was responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and production before moving to a sales position.
“I really enjoy the opportunity to interact with people who share my passion for the industry,” said Scott. “It sounds like a cliché, but I really love to help people solve their problems.”
